PolarPro has been known for a number of years for its first-class and comprehensive range of ND and polarizing filters for cameras and drones.
The company is also known to have been very keen on feedback from industry-leading photographers and videographers to improve their product line.
These collaborations complement their own research and development research.
PolarPro differs from other options on the market because of the high durability of each product in its range.
Why use filters for your drone?
Filters are common in landscape photography. They help photographers create images that would otherwise not be possible. Aerial photographers using drones should understand what filters are available and which ones will allow them to get the best photos and videos possible.
Filters minimize glare and reflections, improve colors, reduce the amount of light entering the lens and much more. Each lens filter has a specific purpose as each provides a specific effect that can help improve the final appearance of an image.
You can correct or improve colors.
Certain types of photo filters can change or enhance the colors in your pictures. Some can correct the color temperature while others can improve the color and contrast for a more vivid picture.
Help get an accurate exposure
When working in particularly difficult lighting conditions, Filters are a great option for getting even and accurate exposure of your entire image. They do this by blocking some of the light entering the lens (to varying degrees).
These are especially useful when shooting outdoors during the day, especially when fast shutter speeds may not be enough to avoid overexposure.
This type of filter enhances an image in ways that no other method can achieve. As the name suggests, a polarizer is a special type of filter that can block polarized (ie, reflected) light – often referred to as “glare”.
ND filter (Neutral Density)
Unlike polarizing filters, which change the appearance of the image, ND filters aim to remain “neutral” and reduce the overall light entering through the lens.
As with dark sunglasses for a camera, ND filters enable the photographer to selectively compensate for the amount of light entering through the lens by slowing down the shutter speed and creating motion blur effects, even in bright light situations. When elements move in the scene, such as B. a waterfall, waves, clouds or even people open up many creative possibilities.
PolarPro cinema series
The glass of the Cinema series has a multi-coated real glass optic for high light transmission and a low refractive index. The filters are specifically designed for aerial photography and are lightweight, using an aircraft aluminum frame with precision threads to ensure smooth gimbal operation.
You will immediately get a feel for the high quality of the filters when you open the packaging. The filters are encased in gold bezels that offer solid design quality. The set comes with a reusable housing. No noticeable image quality is lost, which is proof of the filter quality. The result is smooth, cinematic aerial photography without artifacts.
The 6-pack contains ND4, ND8 and ND16 neutral density filters to reduce the shutter speed as well as ND4 / PL, ND8 / PL and ND16 / PL neutral density filters / polarization filters to control the shutter speed and reduce glare.
New to the ND / PL filters are polarization reference displays integrated in the frame for quick and easy polarization setting. Each filter has Cinema Series production grade multi-coated glass to preserve the most dynamic details of the Mavic 2 Pro’s Hasselblad camera and give your Mavic 2 content a professionally defined cinematic look.
The limited edition filters are high-intensity ND32 filters (5 f-stops) and ND64 filters (6 f-stops) as well as ND32 / PL and ND64 / PL filters to reduce the shutter speed and polarize scenes that suffer from harsh, reflective lighting conditions. For quick and easy polarization adjustment, ND / PL frames have etched polarization guide lines.
The limited collection filters are threaded in place of the standard Mavic 2 Pro UV filter for easy installation and correct cardanic balance. AirFrame technology drastically reduces the overall weight of the filter to ensure fluid compatibility with the Mavic 2 Pro gimbal system. No counterweight is required.
The photographer Jenny Wong says:
The filters are phenomenal. The color cast is neutral, which makes post-processing easier. The lifetime warranty gives me the peace of mind that they will survive the rough adventures I take them on. The drone filters are top notch. The fit and balance of the gimbal is perfect and the glass is flawless. Even without water, I almost always use at least one CP in the air, if not an ND. Even the slightest amount of moisture on the floor can cause glare. The packaging / case is safe for me to take anywhere. With a magnetic lock, the filters are safe and easily accessible. Especially all the tiny drone filters.
