Canon EOS 4000D price and features As of Canon, it is the cheapest new product that appeals to the entry level user. As we know Canon’s entry segment cameras are quite budget-friendly. Especially those who want to take a new step in photography but do not have much budget can have these products at a much cheaper price than Canon, compared to their competitors. Of course, those who want to make photography as a hobby or who want to take better quality photos with their smart phones, prefer this type of products because of their affordable prices. The Canon 4000D is the cheapest in the entry-level category. With the release of the 2000D and 4000D, the entry level ranking in Canon was as follows: 4000D <2000D <200D <750D <800D
So Who’s the Canon 4000D For:
- For users who want to take a new step in photography
- For users who want to take quality photos but have a low budget
- For users who do not find the photo quality of the mobile phone sufficient
Now, if you want, let’s take a closer look at the technical features of the 4000D.
Specifications – Sensor
- 18.1 Megapixel APS-C Sensor
- 19 times larger than the sensor of smartphones
The Canon 4000D has an 18.1 megapixel APS-C sensor. Due to its APS-C, this sensor, which contains 1.6 crop multiplier, is 19 times larger than the sensor of mobile phones. Considering that the lens is the eye and the sensor is the brain, we can say that 4000D is 19 times smarter than smartphones in terms of photography :). This 18.1 megapixel sensor allows you to print enough sizes, and you can easily crop and enlarge while maintaining the quality of your photos.
- Digic 4+ Processor
- 3 Seconds Shooting Speed
- 100-6400 (12800) Iso Value
In the Canon 4000D, Digic 4+ processor is the biggest assistant of the sensor. Thanks to this processor, the camera can take 3 frames per second at a resolution of 18.1 megapixels. It can also last up to 100 to 6400 iso with 4000D, which can sustain 3 frames per second for 96 photos. It is also possible to increase this iso value to 12800 with an extra option.
While shooting your newborn baby with these features of Canon 4000D, you will not miss any movement with 3 frames per second. With the 6400 iso value, the shots you take in the interior at night will be much brighter than the mobile phones.
- Carbonfiber and Polycarbon Alloy
- Fairly Light Body
- 2.7 inch 270.000 Dot LCD Screen
When we first look at the body of the Canon 4000D, we encounter a familiar structure. This body structure is exactly the same as the 1300D. Of course there are differences in key patterns and structure. On the back of the body we find a 2.7-inch non-touch fixed screen LCD. On the right side of this LCD screen, we encounter 13 buttons that we can control everything of the camera. In the previous series, the symbols indicating what the keys did were directly above the keys. In 4000D, these symbols were taken right next to the keys.
When we look at the upper part of the body, we encounter a mode dial shutter and a wheel. This mode dial is slightly different from other series. Previously, there were only shooting modes on this dial, and in this series, on and off function was added to this dial. In other words, there is no on / off button on 4000D. You use the mode dial when you want to turn the camera on or off. Another point that draws our attention is the flash button. The Canon 4000D has a flash, but there is no key to switch the flash on and off at any time. So, as far as we understand, you need to open the flash of the 4000D manually, not by pressing a button.
On the left side of the body, there is a micro usb input that allows us to update the camera and transfer our photos, and a micro hdmi input that allows us to connect the camera to an external display and view our images. The most striking point in this section is that there is no microphone input. Yes, there are stereo microphones on the camera that allow you to receive sound, but you cannot connect an external microphone to your camera. It is much more logical for users who want to produce V-log style Youtube content, prefer 200D instead of Canon 4000D due to microphone input.
One of the features I like most about this machine is that it has a very useful menu. This structure, which Canon calls “intuitive interface”, speeds up your process of learning to get used to the camera and learning photography by guiding people who have never used a camera before. At the bottom of the body is a battery inlet and SD card slot.
- 1080p 30fps
- Hybrid Cmos Af II
- Cinematic Depth of Field
Canon 4000D can record video at 1920 × 1080 resolution at 30 frames per second. The most striking point among these video features is the Hybrid Cmos Af II feature. Thanks to this feature, the Canon 4000D is capable of very consistent autofocus in video. Canon also uses this feature in the middle and professional segment. So what are the advantages of shooting videos with the 4000D over the phone?
The first of these advances is depth of field. Since the Canon 4000D has a much larger sensor than the phones, it is very convenient to shoot cinematic videos with a blurred background, and the videos you shoot are also suitable for playing on large television screens.
Focus System and Shooting Modes
- 9-Point Auto Focus
- Creative Filters
- Intelligent Auto Mode
When we look at the focus system of Canon 4000D, we encounter 9 focus points. It has a cross-type feature that allows you to assign sharpness even at 5.6 aperture, right in the middle of these focus points.
The Canon 4000D includes Manual, aperture-priority, shutter-priority, program and full manual modes. In automatic modes, the options are much more. Auto modes are: Intelligent Auto, Flashless Shooting, Creative Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Sports, Food, and Night Portrait Mode. These automatic modes allow you to take beautiful pictures if you are more amateur in photography. Manual modes, on the other hand, allow you to learn the technique of photography and be more creative.
Transfer Technologies – Wi-Fi
The Canon 4000D also has a wi-fi feature that allows you to transfer your images without using cables, view your camera live on the phone, control your camera on the phone, and upload your shots to social media instantly. This wi-fi feature was previously not available on 100D, the cheapest option of the entry level. For this reason, users had to turn to more expensive options just because of wi-fi. Now with 4000D, wifi is also available in Canon’s cheapest dslr category.
Lens Options and Box Contents
The Canon 4000D will be available with two different lens options.
- Canon EF-S 18-55mm f 4-5.6 IS II STM
- Canon EF-S 18-55mm f 3.5-5.6 DC III
Of these lenses, the IS STM feature is a bit more expensive because it contains silent focus and anti-vibration in the video. If your budget is enough, you should definitely choose Canon EF-S 18-55mm f 4-5.6 IS II STM model. Also, when buying the camera, get 50mm f1.8, which is one of Canon’s cheapest lenses, for sharp portrait photos with depth of field. If you do not buy the machine already, you will get it first. I almost did not see Canon using 50mm f1.8 🙂
As we know, Canon is the company that offers the cheapest options for those who want to start photography. Unfortunately, other brands cannot produce such affordable machines at the entry level. Canon’s entry-level machines are still very cheap, although the rise in the dollar rate pushed up prices. If I was interested in photography as an amateur or wanted to learn photography better, I would definitely prefer Canon 4000D.
